Cleaning
Passivation Process
MTF, Inc. performs a last stage cleaning operation known as passivation to completed components. Passivation is a chemical treatment applied to the material surface that removes contaminants and assists the formation of a chromium-oxide, passive film which protects the surface from corrosion and assists in the transfer of fluid and/or medication.
Degreasing Process
To ensure the highest quality parts, MTF components endure an ultrasonic vapor degreasing process. Vapor degreasing removes all oils and greases present on the material surface. The MTF vapor degreasing process involves limited labor, energy and floor space resulting in a low-cost contaminant-free component for our customers.
Liquid solvent is raised in temperature to its boiling point. The heavy vapors produced and contained. Components at ambient temperatures are introduced into these vapors and subsequently the solvent vapor condenses on the part's surface. This condensed solvent dissolves the surface greases and oils and flushes them away.
